Jayson Kira began his Jiu Jitsu journey at 23 years old, driven by a desire to challenge himself and grow both mentally and physically. Jayson started his journey at Technics Jiu Jitsu under Rylan Lizares (Pedro Sauer Association) through purple belt, then earned his brown belt and finally his black belt from Rexie Barnum at Alliance BJJ Hawaii.

As his experience deepened, so did his passion for teaching. Jayson found purpose in helping others develop solid fundamentals, confidence, and a true understanding of Jiu Jitsu’s principles both on and off the mats. That passion has now evolved into his dream — opening his own Jiu Jitsu academy, where he can share his knowledge and build a strong, family-centered community.

Born and raised in Hawaii, Jayson and his wife, Sheri, share a love for Jiu Jitsu that has become a family tradition. Their two daughters, Bailee and Lilah, also train and embrace the same values of discipline, respect, and resilience. Recently, the Kira family relocated to Nampa Idaho to begin a new chapter — bringing with them the spirit of aloha and their commitment to spreading the art of Jiu Jitsu in their new community.
